Northern New York is preparing for major growth. Fort Drum is expanding, bringing in new troops and their families, and businesses are moving in to take advantage of a population looking for jobs. The North Country economy is ripe for change. Emerge NNY, a summit for young professionals, will be a forum for Northern New Yorkers to discuss what changes they would like to see in the area of business, civic engagement and arts and culture.

The summit will start off with lively mini-seminars and panel discussions about the Northern New York business environment, the many opportunities for civic engagement in the North Country and the cultural climate in this area. When we've all learned a little about these topics, we'll discuss them as a group in a Town Hall meeting where decision-makers from around the North Country will be present to listen to what we have to say.

This event is being organized by the Greater Watertown Jaycees and other members of the local business community, and is endorsed by the Greater Watertown Chamber of Commerce.
